Default airbox removal

If one were to remove the bottom of the air box, would that help anything? Assuming the engine bay is clean and I'm not going into dirt/water.

The bottom of your airbox is what holds your filter...

Truck guy? A red neck no doubt. Does he wear white socks and drink Blue Ribbon beer?

Its actually not to uncommon. When I had my Jetta it was called the swiss cheese mod, you would drill out a bunch of dime size hole in the bottom of your air box. Multiple dyno charts shows its works just as good if not better than a CAI. Although that was a car that never even seen dirt roads, much less what I put my XJ through. I think if it gets used on the trail scrap that idea and never even chance something stupid like hydrolock, do a snorkel if you want to mod the airbox

Just leave it alone... The stock air cleaner on your jeep is sufficient...
