Default Air Leak coming from Valve Cover

1996 Cherokee SE
2D
2.5 L4

I went camping this weekend and I noticed a hissing coming from one of the breather tubes on the valve cover. I don't know a whole lot about them, but it's the smaller tube that runs into the intake manifold itself not the air intake. It is not the elbow on top of the valve cover. There is a little brass fitting on the side of the valve cover, I tried tightening the hose clamp and it was still leaking. There is a smaller plastic tube that runs into a rubber tube connected to the valve cover. Anyone have any ideas about this? I was just going to put another hose clamp on where the rubber and plastic tube meet. I'm underway right now and I forgot to take a picture of it.

That's part of your crankcase ventilation. The fitting on the side should connect to your intake manifold.

Yeah, I know that, I'm wondering if I need to replace the hose or clean it out or what?

Is it just noisy as it sucks air through, or can you tell if it''s actually leaking? The fitting into the cover should have a small orifice. It might be gunked up and need cleaning out.

I can just hear it leaking air where the rubber and plastic tubes meet. I tried to pull the rubber hose off to get at the little brass fitting to take a look at it and I couldn't pull the rubber off. It's not leaking any oil, just air.
