Default AIR/FUEL MIXTURE: what's appropriate?

I have an adjustment **** in the dash of my '90 to mess with the air/fuel mixture, wired into the map sensor I believe. The guy I bought it from set it up. haha... So how do i know where is an optimum setting?

Did he make up any kind of gauge, mechanical or digital?

If not take it out, you could cause long term damage.

I believe that 14.7/1 is the ideal mixture. I'm not sure how you achieve it with the mixture adjustment you have. Actually, that's pretty much why computer controls were developed.

X2, USE OEM STANDARDS! im in a engine mechanical theory class. Im learning alot about how the fuel/ air mix can change how your engine operates. even a couple of degrees + or - of difference due to a change in the mix could seriously damage your engine in < 36,000 miles, 90 HRS.
