Default Air Conditioning Question

IS there a setting in the 1992-1996 XJ to recirculate air when the air conditioning is on?

Also, should there be water dripping from the front of my car under the passenger side floor from above the engine bay?

Thanks,

Alex

The water dripping is coming from the ac drain tube. If you peak your head under you'll see it.

Thanks, I saw that tube and was wondering what it was for. Is it normal for a lot of water to be dripping out?

The setting you want is MaxAC

The amount of water will be in proportion to the humidity in the air. Being you're in L.A., it's probably pretty hot (it was pretty hot for the N.E. area within the last few days, but hot for us is over 70-ish in early May... lol), so if it's humid out, you'll get more water. I've seen cars of all kinds leave quite a puddle on a hot and humid day after running the A/C for a while.

If the condenser leaks, it will escape as gas rather than liquid, so unless you see green (coolant), you're likely O.K. (Coolant usually leaks into the passenger floor though... theoretically, the Heater core is in the same general area, so it's possible, but I've never heard of this ACTUALLY happening.)

The time to worry is if the water is NOT getting out and backs up and causes the dreaded "rust" thing that you're likely not all that familiar with in southern Cali.
