I know the "jeep way" would be just to take it out but mine is an everydday driver plus I got kids. I have my a/c licends even though I can't spell it. My question is should I go with a scrapped part or buy new or rebuilt

it matters how much money and how much effort u want to put into this. If its your daily driver i say put new parts in there and then you know it wont need to be fixed anytime soon(at least shouldn't need to be)

Also depends on what parts you need to replace, if you know the condition of the "junker" before it was junked, and how much you're paying for the used parts.

junk yard parts are ok... as long as when you take it apart its clean inside. and the oil is clean...I myself have to go in morning to get some lines and condensor... 50 bucks for 2 lines and condensor verses several hundred I dont have...
