Anyone know what im talking bout? is it a good idea to do this, please only answer if you know what im talking bout or have done it before. No offense i just dont want to be discouraged by someone who doesnt know the situation

The silencer fits in the connection between the airbox and the hose going to the throttle body. If removed it makes more noise and you might get a 1/2-1 HP increase at full throttle.

It's not on all vehicles. If yours is so equipped, removing it will have no negative results except for the louder sound of the air rushing through. Kinda' like an old 4-barrel kicking in with no air filter installed. WOOOT!

How can you remove the Air Box hose? Im needing to take it off and work on my throttle valve cable. Ive heard you have to take of the hose.

I took mine out a few months ago. 1 - you wont notice any HP gain - it such a small amount. 2 - you also wont notice any more noise from the intake. Then again, the weather stripping from my jeep is gone so I pretty much only hear the woosh from my doors. But honestly....dont wast your time, you wont notice anything.

Ok thank you Dan but what about if someone gets a Cold Air Intake system and it sucks in more air then the Stock Air Intake, then what? Will they have to change the fuel to air ratio? What is best- to much air to to little gas or to little air to to much gas

I think that opening is plenty large. You've got a system that is designed to use a set amount of fuel for a certain amount of air, and the intake-head-valves-cam-exhaust will only allow a certain amount of flow. If you change any one of those variables without changing them all you're wasting your time and money. IMO

Thats what I do anyways. My foot is to the floor with the pedal because my throttle valve is way off. You can pop my hood and find my TV cable- Throttle Valve Cable- and pull it and see that it will pull about an inch and then stop. Thats how bad my TV Cable is off and its sucking my gas down.
