Default air bag / module replacement

Ok went to pull a part, there were only three relevant jeeps for me, But! one was my jeep twin, had similar damage, got airbags, a little concerned about them, did they deploy and get replaced, were they authentic, good, etc., Q- how to test them safely, did NOT get the module, same reasons, i heard there was a recall on under-seat type and moved to console. is the module testable? Also a thread talked about replacing airbags and not the module, and worked just fine, is this possible?

I had to replace the airbags in my '99. I purchased a complete set including the module (from eBay). I replaced the airbags and then turned everything on. Airbag light did it's thing and then went off. The recall was to move the airbag module from under the seat to under the middle console. I believe there were some cases where water/mud got into the airbag module and caused problems so it was moved higher up to under the middle console.

If there's a problem with any of the modules, the light will come on after the system test.
Don't test the airbags, any kind of V will detonate them. The RCM "restraint control module" should only be serviced with battery disconnected.
If any codes pop up let us know.

thanks will do, my problem is I'm just recovering from a bad injury and limited funds, trying to extricate myself from disability when this happened stuck between a bumper and a hard place, but must have transportation to succeed, yes cheap = risk, but no vehicle = failure and THATS NOT AN OPTION
