Does your horn and cruise control work?I know on a Xj if your clock spring is broken you have no cruise no horn and no airbag. And then there is a fuse for the airbags too.And did you reset the ecu?

When you reconnected the battery did you connect negative first or last? If you connected positive last you could have melted something or blew a fuse. Also did you happen to mess with any yellow coated wiring under the hood? Anything wrapped in yellow coating is SRS related.

My wj did the same. If you dont want to replace the clockspring, you can remove the airbag bulb and the annoying chiming will stop. Chances are the airbag will not deploy when needed, as opposed to popping randomly. Fyi, use a chrysler part when replacing the clockspring, heard the dorman replacements dont stay working for too long.
To the op, check your fuses first, but it may be your clockspring as well. A regular scan tool wont do it, you need a DRB III to check the fault code.

The long and short is if you do not put the fuses for the air bag back in right the light will come on . This morning I took test light to check and had no power at fuse , pushed in all the way OK . Thanks for all the help . Dan

10-4... gotta love those easy saves! I think mines the clockspring though. I already checked and reseated the double fuse at the driver kickpanel box.
