my manifold did the same thing, crack right before the collector. I took it off and a buddie welded it up for free. I reinstalled it , leak is gone and total investment was 14 bucks for the new gasket and some powersteering fluid. I would still think a exhaust shop could do the welding for you at a minimal charge 30-40 bucks. Still a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
