Advice on 1st Jeep Cherokee Purchase Please
Hi, I'm a longtime fan of Jeeps and have finally decided to take the plunge and purchase one!
I've always wanted a Jeep Cherokee Orvis and one is now available in my area.
However, I know nothing about cars mechanically, let alone Jeeps and this one has a LPG conversion which the seller doesn't have a certificate for and the system was taken off a Range Rover.
So I'm really wary about buying the car.
I don't really want the LPG system to be honest, so I'd be happy to remove it once I've bought it.
Could you guys take a look at these pics and tell me what you think?
Many thanks!

Is it a Jeep Cherokee, or a Grand Cherokee. I don't think they ever made a Cherokee Orvis. However, per the use of duct tape in the engine compartment, i'm going to have to say pass on that one, and keep looking around.

Wow, all the orvis sold over here were 5.9 liters to, I was kind of surprised to see the 4.0. If you dont want lp, I wouldnt buy the jeep, since it was off a diffrent vehical I would really be afraid of rigging. Buy one that is close to stock, not all hacked up.

Looks like a homebrew air intake manifold add-on -- a real hackjob if you ask me. I'd pass on it, especially if the LPG mod isn't certified. You don't know what unrelated stuff they may have screwed up in the process even if you're not planning to use the LPG.

I agree with everybody else and would definitely pass on this vehicle.
Yea stay away from that bomb ,when propane tanks gets to hot the pop off valve will release the excessive pressure,I had a setup on Ford f150 when that tank released it would scare the crap out of every one in about one square block . Also if the po took that big of a chance on the fuel system ,what about the rest, very questionable !
