Default Adjusted TPS, now my idle is messed up badly!

So yesterday i adjusted the TPS on my 89 so it was showing .8 volts. All was fine and good until i went to start the jeep back up and it will rev all the way up to 3,000 rpm and sometimes just stay there until i shut it off and start it again. Then it will rev up to 2500 and stay there a few secs then go down to 700ish rpm. Sometimes when it goes back down to idle it isn't very smooth and will randomly just instantly drop 100 rpm. Sometimes the jeep will idle around 1500, sometimes 700, and most the time 1000 ever since i adjusted the TPS. What is going on?!?! The jeep doesn't idle at a constant rpm and jumps around. i have a new IAC, and i have checked all my connections, everything is properly plugged in. I don't have any loose or unplugged vac connections. The only thing i can think of that i did different is i unplugged the coolant temperature sensor for a few seconds to see if my engine ran different without it, but it didn't run any different so i plugged it right back in. I wouldn't think that would be causing a problem! Any ideas! i need to get this fixed ASAP as it is my Daily Driver. Thanks!

Sure about the Vac? There's lines right next to the tps and if they are that old then one might be cracked.

You mention you adjusted the TPS, but did you test it?

There could be a problem with the unit. I would recommend testing it per the manual.

Replace it if there is any doubt; they aren't that expensive.

I have tested the TPS and it tests out just fine. I am sure all my vac lines are on. I replaced all of them when i rebuilt my engine 3 months ago. The tps is adjusted to factory spec, so i am just confused why it would be causing these weird issues. Ill try reseting the computer again....
