Default adjustable ball joints vs non-adjustable.

So I found out why my tires are balding on the inside. Check out the vid. Not my XJ, but the exact same deal.

So I was looking for new ball joints and came upon adjustable. What's the pros and cons of adjustable?? Thanks.

I've heard the adjustable wear out a lot quicker, but no personal experience.

You don't need adjustable ball joints unless your axle is bent.

I have installed a lot of the adjustable ball joints and they really don't seem to hold up as well as the non adjustables. The offset one are a little better but still not great. As far as the not needing them unless your axle is bent is not totally true. I have seen them messed up from the factory. They don't don't alignments right off the assembly line. If you can find a place to hydraulically straighten it that is your best bet.

Specialty alignment products offer offset ball joints for 105.99 each which are a specialty made allignment ball joint. my axle is not bent (has zero deflection in the tube)the outer C's are what are bent on mine. the alignment ball joints are what solved my inner tire wear problem.

Get an alignment done see where you are at (they will give you degree readings and tell if your current balll joints are worn) then you can go from there. it may be a toe in problem too
