Default Adding a system

Ok well I know some of you guys don't agree that you should put a system in your jeep, but I'm really considering putting one in. Stock just isn't really doing it for me. The only problem is I don't want it to be visible, because where i live people will steal your system in a heartbeat. Anybody have an idea where i can put a sub and an amp witout it being visible? Also i've checked underneath the back seats and there is not enough room. Thanks.

umm well idk how loud you want, but quadratec offers a subwoofer that fits in the little cubby whole in the back.. not sure how it is as far as quality, i was going to get it but i decided 2 12 inch JL audio subwoofers in a Mossy oak obsession camo subwoofer box would better suit my needs

Not enough room? How big of an amp are you using? Thats where they put the factory amp. Thats where I was going to put mine. There isnt a way to hid the sub/s. The way I was going to do it was to build a box that sat up close to the back seat. then I was going to try and hide it with a cover of some sort. I was also going to screw it down from the inside of the box to the floor so they couldn't take it, as well as use anti theft screws to mount the subs. I was told by a local stereo shop that cherokee's are a huge target, thus the steps to reduce theft.

through it in the back and put a blanket over the top, DON'T play your music by the house that is #1 rule, even if its hidden they will find it if you show off, look in to alarm systems also most stero theifs wont touch a car with the little flashing light

I don't remember where I saw it but the is a $20 flashing light kit that can be installed. Make it look like you have a alarm.

I bolted my box into the bottom of the back. I took the gas tank off and did it that way. Nobody is stealing my system. I dont have doors either.

Here is what I have. Roof mounted the amp, and you can easily disguise one of my subs as a toolbox, I have 2 back to back. But I also have very darkly tinted window. (The troll hair was put in by the previous owner)
My amp fit easily under my back seat but I like it on the roof better. PM me for details if you like it.

i fit a 1000 watt amp under my back seat, so you can hide the amp like that, and the subs, depending on what size speakers you get will problem have to be somewhat visible...

you can take a toolbox with a removable lid and put the subs in there, make sure it fits in with your jeep if you use one though.

Thumbs up just a few thoughts...

my bud back home in va has in his '87 xj an alpine cd, alpine coaxial door speakers, separate tweeters in his a pillars, and an 8" bazooka tube, sounds exceptionaly good. these days most decent head units (i prefer pioneer) have an RCA sub out and mosfet amp section for 2 or 4 speakers. if you couple that with a powered bazooka tube strapped to the floor against your back seat, saving you from buying an amp(!), and put some heavy tint on yer rear windows you might be suprized at how good it sounds, and how discreet - especially if you use the factory speaker covers. check out www.onlinecarstereo.com for some really good prices - i got 4 lanzar 3way door speakers that sound great for around $45 i think it was. anyway just a thought...
good luck,
jeff.

I was gonna offer you my grass trimmer for a bit, then some weed killer cause i thought it was a fungus. LOL Very interesting look. I can see me with that, my lil girl would be pulling it off all the time although the entertainment value for her would last for weeks.
