Talking adding to my lift??

hey guys...noob here, I just traded my mustang for a 95 cherokee sport the other day and have been on here non-stop doin some reading...anyways, the jeep has a skyjacker lift..3" i believe..i want to go higher and was wondering if buying a shackle kit for the rear and spacers for the front would hurt anything? it has lower control arms but id say they are stock lenght..im not sure but i think it jus has leafs in the back..could i block the rear? i know im looking at a trackbar and have to figure out the control arms...do i need to replace both upper and lower? any info would be great thanks!!

hey, welcome to the forum!

Shackles (rear) and front spacers are good but a block in the rear is bad bad... not just bad

bear in mind that once you hit the 4.5 inch lift mark, you need to start fortifying weak points,
SYE
driveshaft(s)
breaks
gears (over 33s)
steering box and frame
+
+
+
+

all in all its not that bad. Do you want to run
3 inch and 31s
4.5 inch and 33s
5.5 inch and 35s
8 inch and 35s

I have the same set up
3" skyjacker + 2" shackles and 2"spacers

Everything is good but a couples things:
-Lower Controls Arms are angled steep and make for a rougher ride(Control Arms drops will help)
-LCA pull to back of fender
-Driveshaft vibes(need SYE)

I would just get new lca, dont worry about the upper unless the bushings are wearing.

Longer Shocks- Adjustable Tracbar-Sway bar end links-Steering Damper
I would recommend getting all the things listed above.

If i were to do it all again, i would just get a lift kit that includes all of the above

hey thanks for the replies...come to find out it has a 4in lift..still like to go a little higher maybe...so if i get the 2in coil spaces and 2' shackels it should work out? with the lca drop kit and maybe a t-case drop? would i still need a sye with a t-case drop? not real important jus yet..im leaning more torwards an agressive look than lift i dont wheel it any..well not yet anyways...i was thinking full width axles or at the least spacers, and maybe some trimming on the fenders and moving the flares up...seriously thinking of hacking the hatch..i like the look..

no you do not need SYE with t-case drop, you might get away with a t-case drop with 4" but higher then that you need a SYE or Hack N tap SYE

I seen people trim the fender and move up the flares, it looks really good and clean. good luck

SYE= Slip Yoke Eliminator
HnT SYE= Hack n Tap SLip yoke Eliminator

the sye you have to crack you T-case open but is much stronger because it replaces the output shaft with a stronger 32 spline, along with new housing and yoke,n others

as for the Hack N tap SYE , you need to remove rear drivershaft, cut the output shaft, drill, and tap it, then install flange unit to connect to CV drivesaft.

with any SYE kit you need a CV(double cardan) driveshaft

i know companys like RubiconExpress make the HnT.

if you want to know more do a search on CF or google, you will find lots of info
