Default Added on cruise control not working.

So I'm trying to put factor cruise on my 98 Cherokee. I've got the cruise switches from a 98 Cherokee, and I have the steering wheel, clockspring, vacuum actuator and the wiring from the clock spring to the cruise switches from a 2000 Cherokee.

Everything is installed correctly, but when I hit the cruise "on" switch, nothing happens, no light on the dash, set button doesn't work, nothing.

Any ideas what I should check? From my understanding, only the switches need to come from a 98. Could it be the wiring from the switch to the clock spring maybe reversed because it's from a 2000?

There's not a fuse for the cruise is there?

Can anyone confirm the what the part number should be on the 97-98 cruise switches? I think I may have gotten the wrong set.

I was under the impression that '97 and '98 were interchangable. '99 to '01 also. I think I read somewhere that is has something to do with the ohms. Don't quote me on that.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/w...-97-xj-906542/

'97 56007 530AB Right
56007 531AB Left

'98 56007 530AC Right
56007 531AC Left

'99 56007 530AD Right
56007 531AD Left

'00 56007 530AD Right
56007 531AD Left

'01 56007 530AD Right
56007 531AD Left

So I am pretty sure I copied and pasted all the right stuff and was reading the parts catalogs correctly. Thing that makes me wonder about '97 and '98 only being for them and '99 and up for the rest is that the part #'s are the same except the letters. Was kinda under the impression that the letters was more a year to year thing. One superseding another.

Go here:

Download all the Jeep Parts Catalogs. Helps with stuff like this.

Yeah, that's what I thought. My switches have the AD at the end, which means it was from a 99-00. I'll have to get in touch with the seller of the switches and see if I can get them swapped out.

Good news is, it shouldn't be a weird wiring problem!
