Sorry if the answer is within searching, but I'm on my phone & that's hard to do. I have a 98 Limited & the ACs been working well for the past 2 yrs.
The other day on the highway, it noticeably wasn't blowing as cold & i though it was just the highway but it kept gettin worse & now its more of a cool air vent rather than true AC blowing thru the vents all of the time.
I checked the low pressure level & topped it off with my AC Pro, looked for leaks & found none. Belts are still good. So does this sound like a Compressor issue cause it does appear to be showing its age?
Oh & I live in Virginia Beach, so this is an asap to fix, lol!!

Sometimes you have to remove more shims. Mine only had one.Originally Posted by SeniorXJ

i have the same issue and was thinking of using the AC Pro, but wasn't sure if they were a gimmick POS or not. how did it work ?
However I think I have a leak.

^This, any of those cheap "on-can" low side only gauges are about worthless. If you really want to know what is going on with your AC system get a good set of gauges (for both high and low sides) from Harbor Freight (about $50) or your local auto parts store. You may indeed just need some refrigerant (especially on a 15+ year old vehicle, while the AC is in theory a closed system, no seal is perfect and you will always loose some over time), but those cheap gauges on a can tend to be inaccurate and only tell you the pressure on one side of the system (low side), which can both cause you not to be aware of other issues and even lead to an overfill (which can cause even more problems than being a little low).Originally Posted by Bustedback
