I'm having some ac problems. I have plenty of freon, but the ac compressor will kick on for maybe 3-5 seconds then it kicks right back off. The ac lines under the hood get cold but the air coming out of the vents is maybe a few degrees cooler then the outside air temp. Any suggestions?

 

Have you checked the high and low pressure cutoff switches? Perhaps one of those are faulty causing the compressor to cycle on and off too much.

Yes, Can you get the high/low pressure and outside ambient temperature?

 

Yes I should be able to get those before I go in to work later.

 

As an aside, your system doesn't use Freon (R-12). It uses R-134a.
