Default AC Intermittent issue

Hello,
First post. I've been on that other forum.....booo!

But I have owned my 2000 XJ since 2005.

Let me first say, I'm a commercial refrigeration/AC tech everyday. But I don't do much to auto AC's other than a pulling good vacuum and a recharge when necessary.

My jeep has a good charge, runs ice cold for 15 mins. And then when satisfied, the compressor cycles off as it should. Cycles back on but at some point it stops getting cold. Almost like I have a moisture block in the system causing my suction and discharge pressures to drop. Of course, this always happens when I am on the road and not in my driveway. But unlikely I have a moisture contamination. Not after pulling a good vac for over an hr down below the 2000 mi range.

Is there any component in the system which creates this situation? The problem goes away each day and returns after I am driving for 15 mins or so. .

Default Give me a few

I am pretty good at this problem, Give me a few to think about it. I wonder if it has the under dash temp control unit I work with on big rigs using the Chrysler System? If so it has two screws that are adjustable to tell it when to kick in and how long to stay in before kicking back out.

These have a bad habit of getting stuck and not kicking in after the first Cycle. Chase it down and take a look, I have not actually had the time to check this out yet and as you know they like to change this stuff every year. I have fixed them by doing a half turn and then putting them back. Seems to break it free and unstick them

Let me see if I can find out more.
