Looking for new ac hoses with manifold for 97 xj. Every where I look is for 98-99 or 00-01. When I do find one for 97 it is a lot more $, but the picture of the part looks the same just different angle. Does anyone know if the 98-99 setup will fit fine or was 97 a weird year?

I have a 97 and 01. The 97 has a loop behind the compressor to the accumulator. The accumulator is also a bit different. Personally I prefer the cleaner lines/accumulator of the 01. I see no reason why you can't use an 01 manifold and accumulator with your existing low and high pressure switches. Everything else is the same- compressor, condenser, liquid line, & evaporator.

It appears as though the '97 A/C Suction & Discharge Line (your 'manifold') is a stand alone part. OEM part number 55036635AB.


The '98 and '99 have different part numbers. 2000/2001, different yet.

Generally, if Mopar America lists it you can get it from a Chrysler dealer.

I taped to the guys at jeep air.com and they said molar has them listed different. But held up both next to each other and there should be no reason the 98-99 wouldn't work. So I ordered the 98-99 version for almost $60 less than the 97.

Jeep air even switched it on their site as 97-99 now
