AC compressor install question
When i bought my 2000 it didnt have a compressor on it so I bought a used compressor off the classifieds here and plan on installing it this weekend. My questions are;
1) is the refill and evac necessary? I'm assuming it is, but don't want to invest into it when I could've just hit it with a recharge kit from autozone.
2) do I need to wait until after the recharge/evac fill before turning the ac on?
3) do I need to plan on draining and refilling the compressor with PAG oil, or is this usually included with the shops work
4) will I be able to tell myself if any other components are needing replaced before I take it to a shop? If so, what do I need to look for?
5) are there specific torque specs or gaskets for installing the lines to the compressor?
Any other info or tips and tricks you can offer would be much appreciated.
