Would an AC compressor from a 96 XJ 4.0 fit a 99 XJ 4.0? My parts jeep has a good one I believe and my 99 needs a compressor.
Thanks, Justin.

I did, they say they're different part numbers. They bolt up the same, however the wiring is different but I could splice in the single pin connector.

Time for a new compressor for the '99. I said new, because I have not had very good experience from a reman. I've tried, numerous times, on many different vehicles. Lots of expense, extra work, and disappointment.
Be sure to flush the system, get a new orifice or orifice tube, and a new accumulator/filter dryer.
These are all required with proof of purchase and labor to activate and maintain the warranty on a new (or reman) compressor.
I have found that there is no cheap way to have reliable cold air.
