Default AC clutch always engaged with AC on

Well I just installed the new compressor and charged the system to 1.25lbs as the sticker says(all this work was done by myself with professional equipment and yes the old refrigerant was recovered) everything worked great in the shop however i drove 30 minutes home and realize the clutch is not cycling as it should be. With the AC on it stays engaged the entire time, if I turn AC off or unplug the compressor the clutch disengages. AC blows very cold as it should, just curious as to what I should look for here?

Thanks

I think the only time you'll see the compressor kick off/on is if the evaporator fins ice up, then the low pressure cycling switch will disengage the compressor until the ice is melted and the low pressure side pressure returns to normal.

Ice will accumulate if the humidity is high.

Really? I was under the impression it's supposed to kick on and off.. So the way it's working is normal?
