Default Ac box connector question

I accidentally pulled this connector and wires out of the ac box a little bit. They appear to go into the evaporator.

What is this for and did I mess it up? Can I just push the wires back in?

That's the capillary tube and capsule for sensing evaporator temp. Turns the compressor off so the evaporator doesn't freeze up.

Well I just shoved the wires back in and taped the black box there. I think they were just glued in anyway.

You'll likely be just fine.
