AC/ Blower resister melt-o-matic. Need wiring help
Hey guys.
On my 97' XJ 4.0 AW4
My blower resistor went out over winter and took out the wire harness with it, It also took out a small bundle on the passenger side (near your feet) as well. It almost looks like that bundle was worn from being kicked??? it might have contributed, i'm not sure. anyhow, Its hot as hell now so im looking to get the ac etc working again.
I've got a manual but can't find what i need. Does anyone have a wiring schematic for the HVAC system?
I almost considered just wiring the blower motor and ac clutch to a relay & switch (Temp control and vent blend/position switches still work) but im worried about bypassing the pressure switch, along with the aux fan coming on hen ac is selected.
I'm gonna get some donor harness or just splice repairs in, if none are available. I'd like to get a handle on what what before i get in there.

It is also worth noting that you probably need a new blower motor as well. When it gets to the point where wiring/connectors are melting it is usually the result of a failing blower drawing too much current.

There's a thermal fuse in the resistor block that's supposed to open if the temperature in the resistor circuit reaches 262*F, which is usually caused by the blower motor drawing too much current, or there's a lack of airflow accross the resistor block (weak blower output or chamber clogged with foam) causing the resistor block to overheat.
