Default 99 xj questions about exhaust

i put a flomaster muffler on it, it was off a jeep wangler. and i took on my cat converter, is that bad to do, and when i rev the motor it stays reved for a couple seconds,

you took on your cat? what do you mean? My 99 stays reved up when its cold and i rev it up. i think its normal

im geusing you meant you took off your cat and its not necesarily bad if you dont have emissions in your state you will be ok

ya i dont have emissions where i live but im also running no muffler so i need back pressure from my cat so im not sucking or chipping valves. But ya if you have a muffler then forget the cat lol

Catalytic converters are a federal requirement. It doesn't vary by state. I assume you think if no one is checking, it's okay.

It's not.
yup it is not just calie that requires them it is the us-of-a that wants you to leave them on so i would leave it and save the troubles it could cause when you have to smog it

You still have emmissions, you just don't have to have them tested.

who cares what ppl think. im sure that the tree huggers aren't gonna hate us anymore than they already do when jeepers run no cats. I bet almost everyone on this forum has something done to their jeep that is illegal anyway. read up and you'll see that pretty much anything after market you do to a car is illegal so what's runnin no cat gonna hurt?...
