Overheating problem may be fixed for good
Well I did some serious searching yesterday in some J/Y around me and came up with what I think may help many XJ owners with overheating problems. I Found out that the double fan kit that come standard with the Dodge & Plymouth Neon (2 fans on the same fan shroud) between the years of 2000 and 2009 have a dual fan setup that run about 12-14 inched high by 25-27 inches in length. The fans have 3 wires, one ground, one wire that lets one fan run on high (I'm putting this one to a hot lead that works with the key on) while the other fan runs at half speed while this wire is connected. The other wire which I will hook to the electric fan wire thats in the XJ now will engage both fans on High speed when it kicks in. The two fans running on high pull less amps than the one in the XJ now. I will do a write up on it as soon as I get it in and mounted but so far it looks like it will fit PERFECTLY on the radiator. BTW I pulled the fan and it cost me $20 only...Tj

The big question is what is the CFM of the neon fans... I mean it is a small 4 banger, i wouldn't think they would put out much heat (compared to the 4.0...)

I can tell you this, the CFM of the Neon fan/fans are almost double the output of the Jeep fans. The key is to get the double fan kit from a neon with AC. I am doing this modification soon and will report back...Tj

As far as I found out the CFM on this dual fan setup is 2700CFM, I may be mistaken so if anyone else out there knows for sure plz chime in...Tj
