All OEM related XJ specific tech. Examples, no start, general maintenance or anything that's stock.
my goal is with these rims to have the rim with tires comes out further so it will line but more with the standard fender flare instead of being so sunk in looking with the stardard 94 xj rims.
but when i compare both specs i seem to only gain 5mm on positive offset... why call them deep dish if the difference is almost nihil.

i read this whole page http://www.wheelpros.com/page/offset-explained/9
to understand offset and backspacing.. i dont see anything on the tire spec pages on backspacing.. my current rims have a backspacing of a little over 5 inch
The backspace on those TJ rims are basically the same as yours. I'm running 235/75-15's on 15x7 rims with 4.25" backspace (+6 offset) and they sit where your wanting yours to be.
I don't believe there are any Jeep OEM wheels with less than 5.25"(maybe 5"?) of backspace. If there aren't but you want to stay with an OEM wheel your only option would be spacers. GOOD ONES are expensive but those here in the know say that's the only way to fly. Thing is for the cost of spacers you could have the proper aftermarket wheel. Or you could go used for aftermarket ones.
ive read good stories about spacers and bad ones.. spacer isnt really what i would like rather have a rim that would just do what i want instead of adding another part. thank you for your reply
a quick look around found these https://www.quadratec.com/products/92600_2XX_B_PG.htm cheap price and 4.0'' backspace i dont know how strong these are i guess it all depends on the price range for better quality. Ok now i know what im looking for thanks
well yes sure, ive been looking around quite a bit and gathering information so i can do right the first time. so far this is what im going for:
2'' budget lift from rocky roads outfitters (new)
30x9.50r15 tires not sure which brand yet (i dont mind good used ones)
15x7 5x4.5 rims with a 4'' or 4.25'' backspacing (used)
that is my goal, the lift will be new but tires and rims im trying to keep the price down by searching on craigslist at least now i know what to look for and can jump right on it if i find a good deal.. it will take some time
"Backspacing, similar to offset, is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the inside lip of the wheel (measured in inches)."
edit: the smaller the backspace the more the rim will stick out and stock rims 5.25'' backspace so rims with a backspace of 4 or 4.25'' will eliminate 1 or 1.25'' spacers.
thank you, i will add this to my list of search in craigslist

edit: i just got confused at first with the term 'deep-dish' i thought that refered to small backspace but thats not entirely true eventho "“Deep dish” wheels are typically a negative offset and benefit the design process by allowing sharp angles, deep spokes and incredible layering." so the term deep-dish doesnt necessary refer to a small backspace it can either be a negative or positive offset.
i think i word that right

ok, so to finish this up, to have the rims come out about 1 inch i need a 4.25'' backspace on a 7'' width rim which equals +6mm positive offset. which is weird but i just read that its measured from outer lip to outer lip which adds 0.5'' more on each side to the calculation, a 15x7'' is measured actually as 15x8''
so its 8'' width devided by 2 is 4'' as zero offset but i want 4.25'' so the difference is 0.25'' * 25.4 to convert to mm equals +6mm in positive offset
