Its a dealer whose suggesting the motor was rebuilt because of what he percieves as an aftermarket header and a new freeze plug. He's asking about 2k more than market because of the jeeps exceptional condition plus possiability of engine being rebuilt. Your opinion is that that is stock helps alot. Gaskets and all look really new so I dont know what. Could be the deal of the century or a rip off ha ha

I think I'd have to walk away from that one. If he can't provide paperwork and/or receipts for machine work or an engine overhaul by a shop, I call BS on a rebuild. Used car dealers will point to stuff like that (a new freeze plug or a new-looking gasket) and make claims all day long. At the end of the day, you may just end up with an engine that just has a new freeze plug (which raises further questions) and a fresh exhaust gasket. The sad part is that this is a tactic that works really well on non-gear heads, otherwise they wouldn't do it. If the jeep as a whole is really clean, great, but trying to justify an inflated price on mechanical work that can't be proven is a huge red flag.
