Default 99 limited leaf spring questions

so I have a 99 xj limited. It currently has a 3” lift with an AAL in the back. The leafs on one side are getting pretty warn. So I want to replace both. My AAL look to be in good shape. The lift was installed about 1 year ago according to the previous owner. So my plan is to get oe leaf packs and re use my AAL. My main question is what leaf springs do I go with? The code on my leafs is 706ab which according to this site

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1002581

means they are Zulu/zfu standard duty springs. The only replacements I can find in auto stores near me are the 545ab springs coded zgt/zvt and are heavy duty. The free arch of mine is 6 5/8 and the zgt is roughly 5.5 from what I’ve gathered. I can’t seem to find spring rates on mine but I believe the zgt is 745 as stated on one site. What do I go with? I don’t want a harsh ride. Typically it’s just me and one other person in the Jeep. Occasionally it will be loaded with people and this summer it might have some kayaks on it. But I don’t see myself towing Much. It doesn’t have a hitch currently but I want to get one on it. I’m clueless on what to go with for springs at this point

ditch the aal. They probably screwed the springs in the first place. Plus on fresh leaf springs the ride is gonna suck. Ask me how i know. Imo, get 3 inchlift springs. The price differrence from lifted leaf packs to oem packs isnt too much. You will be better off.

My guess is these are oem leafs from 99 so I’m sure they didn’t have much life left anyway. But will the 3” leafs be too high in the back? I know rough country’s 3” kit includes a 2” AAL so I don’t want the 3” springs to make the rear too high

you dont want rough country products either. Get a zone or rustys 3 inch pack and you Will be golden. It will be leveled out.
