Hello all,
I have a jeep cherokee 4.0. It was running one day just fine the next it has no fire. Everyone says cps crank position sensor. Now if I understand this correctly it gets its power 5v constantly from the pcm. The ground comes from the pcm. The signal wire flows through the sensor and the ground breaks signal when it hits the high side right. Now with this being the case I would have 5v on my constant and on my signal wire when it's hooked up to the sensor. But if it's not hooked up to sensor I should only have my constant 5v and the ground. But I don't even unhooked from the sensor I still have 5v on both wires. Ive checked the pcm signal pin and it's not coming from there. So that being said is there a different sensor or relay that could be causing this. Is it a short between the two. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
