Default '99 electrical issues..

Bought this 99 cherokee 3 weeks ago. since then it has stalled out while driving.. straight power loss.. tach to "0" then it repowers.. the latest is with cruise engaged hauling down local highway, the air blender door closes to top dash (windscreen) only, the speed slowly diminishes by 15 mph over 4 miles or so (with cruise on).. ok so I turned off cruise and the blender door closed and blew out front dash vents high speed.. (ok its warm here.. 100* + lol) ..

after the highway cruise, we came home and I engaged the keyless locks with the remote. heard the horn but the "clang" from the electric locks never happened. what I discovered is the electric lock solenoids clicked but lacked POWER to engage properly. I hit the electric door lock button on the drivers door and same result.. nothing.. I was able to manually engage the door lock on the door..

I let the jeep sit for 30 minutes and took off again.. after I started driving I tried the door locks from the keyring and .. they worked flawlessly!

so there seems to be an electrical miswire, malfunction, or some other gremlin with this jeep.

any ideas???

btw.. I thought my VW had a case of "hitlers revenge" where it always breaks down.. even with NEW parts.. this jeep has me wondering if theres not a chrysler curse lol!

i also have a 99. locks engage and disengage by themselves. radio speakers alternate from front to back. rpm loss at steady speed of under 40mph with engine acting like it is loosing gas. let it sit now it runs perfectly. i think it is possesed.

Your stalling problem sound like your CPS is going out. You need to change that out before it leaves you stranded and it will if not changed.

Your cruse control and the blend door problem is one and the same problem. They both run on you vacuum system. You must have a vacuum leak somewhere in the system.

As for your locks that sounds like you may have a bad ground. Check out all the grounds not just the one at the battery. You should have the ones at the battery, one from the head to the fire wall and if not mistaken one from the oil dipstick. Remove them and clean them really well.
