99 cherokee 4.o water temp?

99 cherokee 4.o water temp?
Hi all, new to the forum. Quick question about my jeeps water temp.
With a heat index of about 103 today, jeeps temp gauge was reading at the first line above 210 (220?). This is very common and I have never thought anything of this; I had the A/C on full blast, have big tires, and have a winch in front of the grill.
out of curiosity, I plugged my scanguage, and it said water temp was 245degrees (dash still reading 220). Jeep was showing no physical sign of overheating.
just curious if anyone else has noticed this discrepancy, if this is something I should dig deeper into, or if this is normal.
