99 4.0 oil pressure problems.
Well, as of last weekend my Jeep has had oil pressure issues. I did some research and sound out about the infamous OP sending unint. I replaced that and my results rendered the same problem. So, I just changed the oil pump today and at first everything was going good. Pump was primed before install and everything else was cleaned. There was no shavings of any kind in the bottom of the pan or the pick-up screen. Well, after driving for about 15 mins, my oil pressure dropped again and now I have a lifter tick. I'm honestly stumped at this point. I've worked on a lot of engines and rebuilt a lot. I've never had this kind of bad luck with any of them.
There is NO knock... There was NO knock... There was NO tick in lifters prior.... There IS a tick in the lifters NOW.
Has anyone else or does anyone else know someone with a similar issue and what was the fix. I'm already leaning towards a new engine.
