Default 98 XJ A/T Won't Start, Even After NSS Rebuild

This morning I went to start my XJ and it wouldn't crank at all. I wiggled the shifter in P, then it fired right up.

Fast forward to a few hours ago. I go to start it up again, and it gave methe same issue. I wiggled the shifter but that didn't work this time. I had tools with me so I adjusted the NSS for a while while trying to start it and still nothing. I didn't even hear a click(it might have clicked I just couldn't hear it).

I had to get it towed home. I just removed the NSS and rebuilt it per this writeup:NSS rebuild

I installed it correctly as far as I know and still nothing, but I can hear a click from what I'm guessing is the starter relay behind the glovebox. Here's what I know so far that I think will help:

-Battery is a gel cell less about 6 months old or so.
-I load tested the battery and it's good.
-All the fuses in the passenger kick panel are good.
-I tried tapping the starter/solenoid with a hammer while my Brother turned the ignition and still got nothing.
-I switched out the ignition relay in the big fuse block under the hood on the passenger side and still nothing.

I'm sorry for this, but I've searched and searched. I was positive it was my NSS because it started earlier with the wiggle of the shifter, but now I'm at a loss. Please help as it's my only means of transportation, thank you.

It could be that the NSs is bad or it could be a ignition switch possibly or both

I just rebuilt the NSS a couple hours ago, could it still be bad beyond repair? I don't think it would be the ignition. I jiggled the shifter earlier today when I had this problem and it started right up.

I can do that without it being hooked to a battery? I just tried to arc it and it spun once but I couldn't get it to do it again. Just threw sparks.

That's what I was thinking but I just rebuilt it and I'm about 99.9% sure I did it exactly right. One other thing is right before I turned the truck off the last time I had to make a 3 point turn and I didn't quite come to a complete stop before shifting it into reverse or back into drive. Maybe that little extra bit of strain I normally NEVER put my trans under is what did it in? It's just weird because there's nothing really to the NSS at all. the only thing I didn't rebuild was the wiring.

Remove the wire at the starter solenoid terminal. Have a helper turn the key to start and test for voltage at the wire. You should have battery voltage. If you have no voltage you probably still have a problem in the NSS. But it could also be the starter relay, the ignition switch, the wiring.

If you do have battery voltage the problem is in the starter or the battery cable. Make sure your battery and ground cables are good, clean and making a tight connection.
