Howdy everyone, I went out wheeling a few weekends ago and I sent her a lil to hard on some trails, and now when I turn left or right she makes a clunking sound when turning left or right, I jacked up the front and had a buddy turn the wheel back and forth to look for anything loose, my wheels don't have any play either, nothing moves when I pull on it, i don't have much experience in steering components. My pitman arm looks like it might be loose but again I'm not sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Get a mechanic's stethoscope, a buddy, and an hour or so. Leave it on the ground this time, and work that thing back and forth listening to every possible place. Don't overlook the steering box and shaft. Pittman arm, too.

The bracket on the driver's side frame rail that the track bar bolts to-----tighten the bolts that hold the bracket to the frame.

That pitman arm may be ok.

I had the same look to mine when I put a new gear and arm on my 2000 TJ and it was no problem.

Did you take a look at the U-joints for the front axle?? Some pictures of those and your sway bar end links would be helpful.

Also, +1 on Mark and Cruiser's suggestions.

Check sway bar bushings.
