98 XJ Inaccurate fuel gauge & long crank at times cold
Hey folks, been steadily working on my latest XJ and I think it's time to address the fuel gauge and long crank issues. My '94 XJ is rock solid on both accounts, so this is new and getting aggravating, tired of relying on my odometer instead of my fuel gauge. I'm wondering if anyone has ran into this and if a new fuel pump and sender would be the most common/likely fix. Thanks in advance!

Try the poor man's prime first - key to run for a couple of seconds, key to off. Then crank.
Better yet, hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the schraeder valve on the fuel rail and look for 49lbs (I think) plus/minus a couple.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's bleeding off rest pressure ... I'm going to replace the pump and sender and hope it takes care of both issues, was just curious if anyone had run in to the sames issues. Thanks for the input!
