Default 98 XJ Fan wont bolt on right

I blew my 98 XJs (4.0) radiator a few months ago, and I finally got a new one.

Installed it, everything was fine.

I went to put the mechanical fan back on, and when I tighten it down the pulley behind it rubs on the alternator bracket and wont go on straight. Ive tried everything I could think of. It will not go on straight and it rubs.

Anybody got any advice on what to do?

compare your new part to your old part, side by side. you prolly have the wrong part

They were the original parts I had taken off.

After spending 3+ hours on it, it finally went on straight. Still cant figure out what the problem was.

Sorry for wasting your time but thanks.
