98 xj cherokee ignition problem

Question 98 xj cherokee ignition problem

hi i have xj 2.5td 4x4 cherokee and yesterday i broke the ingnition. in last time was very hard to start if i pull with another vehicle it s easy start but from the key was very hard .i m interesting to put a universal ingnition it is somebody how are make this change befor and can he help me .just i want to keep the original key for code and lock the jeep and another key for started.can someone help please

If it is the ignition lock that is broken and will not turn and you have AAA try calling them to see if your plan covers road side, your driveway, service from a AAA locksmith to fix the ignition lock. My plan covered it and it was well worth it. Kept the same key.

If it is the switch and not the lock then you can do this your self. You will keep the same key as the lock is not changed just the switch. I have not done it but have seen several post questions on this topic.
