Default 98 Oil Filter Adapter Question

I have looked through several threads and I wanted to post a question for someone that knows more about it than I do.

Ok, so first off...it's a 98 XJ Cherokee, AW4, 4.0L...I need to replace the o-rings there at the oil filter adapter. My question is, from reading, that there are several different o-rings and part numbers with most people getting theirs from the Jeep dealer...can I get them from AutoZone, Advanced, other parts store? Does anybody know the part numbers I need to look for if I order them online? Also, is there a specific o-ring material I need to look for or stay away from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend getting at a jeep dealer as they cost like $6. If not possible you can source online.

Go to your local Advance Auto and ask for a 70301.

Will that include every o-ring I need? 3 right? As for the dealer...closest one for me is like 45 mins away compared to 5 for Auto Zone. Same part number there too I assume?

I've never replaced all three. The big O-ring between the adapter and the block is what leaks, and I've just gotten it from NAPA both times I've done it and didn't need a PN to do it--just asked them for an oil filter adapter O-ring.

Just get them from a dealer and you will get all 3, stupid not to do them all when apart same amount of labor.

That's why I asked about getting all 3 from somewhere like Autozone or something b/c the nearest dealer for me is almost an hour away...it really isn't feasible if I can get them form Advanced or something.

Nick,if a dealer is too far go to Morris 4x4 @ the link JPXJ has listed above.
I have compared the Morris items to dealer, & they are right on.
Order from Morris & plan on doing next weekend.
And read-up on performing the task on CF, & plan on 2 hours.
