ok. I have a 98 cherokee sport limited. When you apply the brakes the pedal feels a soft and travels to far down. brakes don't apply very well untill you get to a certain point and then they seem to grab quickly then. Also it occasionally makes the sound when running that power brakes would make applied when the engine is not running. I have bleed the brakes and changed front pads. What could this be? Would it be someting in the antilock system?

 

Do you have brake fade when applying the brakes at a stop?

They seem to feel fine once they grab. they dont go to the floor
