98 Cherokee
I'll begin with an apology for the useless title. I inadvertently posted this while typing it in. So...
For the last few months, my 1998 Cherokee Classic (4.0L/6-Cyl 2WD AT) has been having intermittent starting problems. Sometimes it cranks fine, sometimes it cranks but stumbles and dies. I can keep it running by adding gas, but I have to keep the peddle slightly depressed for at least 3 or 4 minutes or it will cut off again. Alternatively, if I hold down the gas peddle before cranking and give it a surge of gas at start up, I don't have a problem at all. Does this sound like it could be the frequently discussed check valve problem?
