98-02 interchange?
So my girlfriend has an 02 grand 4.0 with 350k miles. Long story short the motors on its way out and since im parting out my 98 with a good motor i was wondering if the two different years are interchangeable. I know i would need to swap heads but im not sure about the blocks as far as sensors. I noticed theres a sensor where the distributor is. Is this as simple as pulling the distributor and putting in the sensor or does something internal need to be changed? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Would that be as simple as swapping the sensors from the 02 engine to the 98? And is the sensor where the distributor would be just a swap or would i have to replace cams?

Be very careful, a lot of the motors are very close but have different motor mount holes, I know we just did this with the 2000 XJ I parted and tried to put the motor in my buddies 01 grand everything was cool we swapped all the accessories and were ready to put it in and the motor mounts were different. Ended up finding out that 2000-01 XJ Basically does not match up to much. Other might have more knowledge just trying to stop someone from going through the waste of time I did
