Default 97 XJ fuel filter

I dropped the fuel tank today to get to some rust and be able to do some welding. Jeep has ~250k mi on it and original fuel pump/filter. Where the fuel line connects to the pump, is that the filter? Can't seem to find any videos of anyone changing just the filter. Looks straight forward, assuming that clip/band comes off easily. Just take the band off and pop old filter out, pop in new one with same orientation, and put band back on?

Does not have the in-line filter...

That silver can on top of the tank is the fuel pressure regulator, which also serves as the filter.

Probably not.
As with sensors there is a unwritten about fuel pumps.
In this case whenever possible use a Bosch.
There is another brand or 2 that guys have had better luck with.
And have read about ones that were complete crap.
You would have to Google it and read up on it to get an idea of what brands to stay away from.
