97 XJ auto to manual conversion?
There's a 97 Jeep Cherokee in the local classifieds with a blown motor. It is a 4x4 and has an automatic transmission. I really have my heart set on a manual 5 speed tranny. Now, what would be required, besides the AX-15 to convert the jeep to a 5 speed?
FYI, the asking price is $900 , but, I'm going to attempt to ask a lot less.
I appreciate the info.

you would need a clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, m/c, slave cylinder, clutch pedals and computor from one with a manuel. youd be better off finding one with a 5 speed already in it

you almost need the whole donor vehicle. i wrecked my 98 sport manual and bought a 2000 with a blown engine, but if you can find all the parts at a junk yard and got the time its worth it ... autos are no fun to drive.
