I've been looking around and making plans for when I repaint my '89 Cherokee, and I have decided to upgrade the front end with later fenders and grill, for the more modern look.

That got me wondering, it is also possible to upgrade the rear end with later tail lights and hatch? It would be neat if I was able to make my old two door look ten years newer.

I tried to search, but didn't come up with much.

It can be done, however the hinges are on the inside on the 97+ and on the outside of the 96 and older. It would require some fab work on the body to make all work right and look the way it should.
