Default 97 Cherokee Coolant leak

My sons 97 Cherokee, 2.5 liter, was leaking coolant so I replaced the original radiator and hoses. Refilled and now I see coolant dripping around the front of the oil pan gasket without running the engine? Very puzzled as to the next steps.

The next step is clean it up well, turn it on in the driveway with a drip pan handy and wait for her to start leaking. Pinpoint EXACTLY where the leak is coming from (not where you think its coming from) and fix it.

I your upper rad hose clamp is loose, or there's corosion on the Tstat housing neck where the hose goes, or the Tstat gasket is leaking or the wterpump shaft seal or gasket are leaking then it'll drip down to the front of the oil pan gasket. Get a mirror to look from the top and go under to look up and find the leak.
Good luck!

Oh yea, also check that small hose at the Tstat. It's the bypass hose that also suppies the heater core.

More checking. Fair amount of play in the fan so we are replacing the water pump. Pressure washed the engine so we can clearly see anything that happens when we replace the fluid. Hope the water pump is the ticket. If not, we'll look further. Hope it's not worse. Have to leave for Texas on Thursday.
