Very close to the numbers others have quoted. I have the Up Country package on my 4dr Sport which probably has 100# of steel plates underneath.

I was briefly intrigued by the 2014 Cherokee, even with a 2.4L I4 it gets close to 4,000#, my flirtation quickly evaporated.

 

used a 4 corner scale. it was 100lbs heavy on the pass side

xfer case and exhaust I'm guessing

 

Battery! Also, apparently the engine/drive-line is offset. A recent post showed the transmission cross-member is not symmetrical.

 

Aren't many vehicles weight biased to the passengers side, to compensate for the driver's weight when only a single occupant is present?

I wonder what my 85 weighs, probably a little less since it has less safety equipment.
