On my 98 XJ, the liftgate glass outter rubber part is coming off. I've read that on the 97+ XJs that the glass is "glued" in. I can't quite tell if this outter rubber part is just trim and has rotted off or if it's part of the "seal" that has been glued. The glued in glass apears find and no leaks, but that outter part is coming off in sections and looks like crap so I'd like to replace. Just wondering if its possible to replace without pulling out the glass and if so where to buy. Thanks in advance!

 

I have the same question. I did a few searches on rockauto and at autozone and could not come up with any results. I tried searching for window seals, window trim, window molding, etc with no luck.

Your local auto glass shop should be able to hook you up.

I replaced my channel runs for next to nothing with these folks. I purchased a length IIRC for less than $20. The OEM single piece FOR 1 WINDOW list over $160.

That's easy math to me......
