Default 96 XJ power windows don't work

Ok, here we go.
I just re-wired the left side speakers in my xj. Now the power windows won't go up. I don't mind but the wife is not happy. Go figure.
Checked the fuses and none burnt. I did notice a 3 prong connector hanging off the switch wire bundle with y/w/b wires.
Any ideas?? please??

thanks

ok, on my xj the windows wont operate unless drivers door is closed but i do not see another switch other than the dome/buzzer one. Pushing that in didn't let the windows operate when they were working, where is this other sensor/switch? Is there one?

Check that the plugs on the back of the master control switch on the drivers door are plugged on all the way and not corroded. Occasionally they come away from the prongs on the back of the switch. Secondly you can remove the access panel near the fuse panel to the left that hides the area where the wires from the door plug to the main wire harness of the car as this also can come loose or have a bad connection. Lastly mine had a problem under the carpet of the drivers side floor. My wiring harness actually corroded and shorted out on the floor pan. The short did not allow power to the other doors and once I soldered it back up everything worked.

take a look at the wires exiting from the drivers door to the kick panel the wires crack pretty easy in the boots that is where i would look first

ok i tested across the rubber block, by the wiring diagram the tan wire is power, i assume the black one would be ground but alas no reading across those 2. across the tan and to the door i have 12+ volts, must have a broken ground wire in the harness from door to chassis.

tarped it for the night
will try again during daylight before i take daughter back to school.
thanks for the tips

Found the problem, as someone pointed out the wires going thru the door to body are brittle and cracked, I just did a temp fix by using crimp connectors and short pieces of wire to re-connect them after cutting out the bad spots. I will do a complete re-wire when I can get a set of the connectors. Thanks for all the ideas
