umm I have no way to do a compression test at the moment. but it is starting to seem like that to me also, but that wouldn't have anything to do with it seeming like the battery is dead would it? Yeah if it is hooked up to the charger/being jumped then yes it turns over farely easy it seems.

X2, do this and you won't have to do a compression test.

Turns over, won't run.

Engine has to have 4 basic items to run:

Fuel

Air

Spark/Timing

Compression

If one is missing, it won't run or it runs poorly.

In your case, if it's got spark, look at timing and/or compression next.

Use a pair of vise grips on the loose terminal, or get a new terminal so you can proceed with troubleshooting without worrying about that.

If its not starting and it says your ignition control module is bad..... and your having trouble cracking and it says the battery isn't hooked up..... then is replace the icm and clean up your terminals and check your grounds.

well cleaning terminals seems to not help. I did add a little water to the battery cells though... next I am gonna pull the plugs as suggested and see if there is any water... if there is is this repairable or am I looking at a new engine. Forgot to mention that when I replaced the thermostat the old one was shot, pretty bad. Working slow on this been really busy, and I have been working alot... started sunday and going till friday... 6am to 6pm not alot of time to do much... thanks fr the help so far guys

There are a few. The main one is the smaller wire off the battery. The others are about the same size coming out of the distribution black. They are smaller guage wires designed to short if overloaded. Since they short inside you cannot tell if they're bad just by looking at them.
